Model Train show in Paterson

Ben, Pop Pop, Joe Ordini and I went to a train show a week ago. Here are a few clips of the little adventure. Its basically the top floor of a warehouse near the pool store down there. Interestingly enough, Kris' Paterson office was on the first floor. We all kind of laughed walking in and seeing the Careplus sign on the front door.

Ben's 6th Birthday

Sorry that I haven't posted the latest soccer video, but it looks like Saturday's game is gonna get rained out, so I can do it then.

In the mean time, here are a few select pictures from Ben's 6th Birthday!!
We got one of the blow up castles for the back yard again, fed the kids sugar and threw them in. LET THE FUN INSUE!!! Star wars theme, balloon lightsabers all around. Good time was had by all. Jessie loved the lollypops that turned her tongue blue!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Haven't really felt like it. But....
life needs to go on. Don't think Wilma would be happy with me moping
at all. Kids are helpful at breaking that....

Jessie of course had to follow her big brother, but ....even Daddy has
his limits. The shot of her on the ground is her chasing the cat around
grandma's house. Sadie was at first terrified, but she came around finally
at the end of the day.

Before we left, they filled the birdfeeder outside and about
40 birds came out of no where to feed. I kept looking for
Hitchcock over my shoulder.

Jessie's 2nd Birthday

So we had Jessie's 2nd birthday on Sunday. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! Definitely the best day of the long weekend. It was hot, (89) but not as bad as Monday (94 with 75% humidity). The cousins from D.C. and Long Island all came. All of my new grass was able to survive or at least make the yard look somewhat decent. The kids were on the new swing on and off all day long. The big surprise of the party...STEPHEN SAMANIEGO. The latest and I believe youngest member of Hardball with Chris Matthews took his hog out for a ride and decided to stop on by. To say the kids loved him would be a understatement. Ben wanted to tell me that he invited him back any time he wants. See what happens when you pick up a ball in my back yard! I believe all in attendance had a good time. Jessie still keeps talking about her "tinky party" even now.

Victory!!!

At 6:00pm this evening...victory was achieved...




Picnic table was constructed. Hand holds were mounted. Swinges were attatched. I made the deadline of a weekend!!

Work in Progress

Woke up this morning at 6 am (Thank you Jessie). This after falling alseep around 2:30 am (thank you infected tooth). So what did I wind up doing all day you ask?





Steve and I started at 11 am this morning after I finished mowing the lawn. We quit at 7:30 after being told about 30 times from our repective wives to come and eat dinner. Right now its about 90% complete. Need to hand the swings tomorrow, pick up some better bolts, and build the picnic table in the bottom.

When the Mommy is away....

Good night spoiled...!

Nothing worse then a good night gone bad. Finally got around to bottling the Hefe last night. Finally had a non cracked hose and all the equipment cleaned and ready to go. Bottles went through the dishwasher on a rinse/clean no soap cycle....I'm ready to go right? Oh dear god no.. I checked the bottling bucket with some water, had to sanitize it anyway, and she held water. Good clear looking beer at this point, I'm actually pleased with the way its turning out. Got a nice Specific Gravity on this beer...I'm a happy guy. Start transferring from the secondary to the bottling bucket. Hmmm....little leak around the spout. I'll just grab a cup and keep going. Take a cup out and mix in the sugar for priming....what's that sound behind me? OH DEAR GOD! The spout threads had actually cracked and beer was flowing out the top like a guizer (see photos...glad I had the camera handy). I've had bad bottling times, but this was the WORST EVER! I must have lost a 6 pack on the floor last night it leaked so bad. Oh well....finally had the kitchen cleaned up at 2:30 this morning...YAWN...now to wait and see what she tastes like.....Better have been worth the hassle..
